Unrivalled Experience - Hundreds Of Satisfied Customers
Peter Scott Printers was set up in 1960 when Peter Scott invested in a small, single-colour letterpress and started working from his living room.
To keep costs down, Peter worked alone – embarking on a gruelling schedule which saw him selling print to customers during the day, typesetting, printing and finishing orders at night before delivering first thing in the morning and selling for the rest of the day.
Peter's sheer determination started to pay off within 12 months, when he was able to take on a member of staff and move his fledgling business into a disused Methodist chapel, bought for just £500.
PSP's growth continued and the company moved to larger premises five years later, an old Cooperative Dairy in Darnley Street purchased for £7,000.
Initially printing on letterpress machines, the team soon moved to lithographic printing presses and eventually from single and two-colour work to four-colour process work - making Peter Scott's one of the first colour printers to have computer control on the Heidelberg presses.
In 1989, a major catastrophe rocked the business – a fire tore through Peter Scott's Darnley Street factory and destroyed the building and most of its contents.
The disaster prompted PSP to move to its present site in purpose built premises on Billington Road Industrial Estate in Burnley.
Peter Scott retired almost 20 years ago, but the company has continued to be one of the North West's leading colour printers, delivering the highest quality work to clients across the UK and beyond. We now use both lithographic and cutting edge digital printing technology to produce printed products of the very best standard for our loyal customers.
